Service 04 — Risk Advisory

Risk reviews and advice for clients, transactions, and operations.

Geopolitical, operational, reputational, and integrity risk — reviewed against the client’s specific exposure, with practical recommendations that can be acted on.

Capability

What we do

We turn analysis and investigative findings into clear decisions: whether to proceed, on what terms, and with what controls. Each matter is scoped against the client’s actual risks rather than a generic checklist, and recommendations are matched to the client’s risk appetite and operating constraints.

We do not produce reports for the shelf. Each advisory output is written to be used — by a board, an investment committee, a security committee, or a client directly.

Scope

What we advise on

Geopolitical & country risk

Country, regional, and cross-border risk reviews — political, security, regulatory, and operational issues.

Transactional risk

Pre-deal and pre-investment risk reviews covering jurisdiction, counterparty, asset, and post-transaction integration risk.

Operational risk

Site, supply chain, travel, and facility risk — reviewed against the client’s footprint and exposure.

Reputational & integrity risk

Risk arising from counterparties, intermediaries, joint-venture partners, and people appointed to positions of trust.

Threat reviews and protective work

Identifying and monitoring serious risks to clients, families, and assets.

Crisis advisory

Advice during active incidents — kidnap, extortion, hostile state action, regulatory action, and reputational crises.

Operating standard

Method

Scoped against actual exposure

Advisory work begins with the client’s actual exposure — operations, geography, counterparties, and the people involved — not a generic checklist.

Grounded in primary information

All advisory output is grounded in primary information, not desk research alone. Sources, methods, and confidence are recorded and shared with the client on request.

Decision-ready output

Findings are paired with options, controls, and triggers — designed to be acted upon by a defined decision-maker.

Ongoing arrangement option

Where risks change over time, advisory work can be set up as an ongoing arrangement rather than a one-off report.

Selected engagements

Anonymised examples

Geopolitical advisory — Energy sector

Operating risk assessment, sanctioned-adjacent jurisdiction

A six-week review of operating, regulatory, and counterparty risk in a jurisdiction next to a sanctioned country. Outcome: the client revised its entry structure, with a documented sanctions boundary and counterparty controls.

Threat assessment — Principal

Long-term protective work

An eighteen-month arrangement covering threat monitoring, travel risk, digital footprint reduction, and family-office advice for a high-profile client across three regions.

Crisis advisory — Corporate

Hostile regulatory action in a foreign jurisdiction

We advised and supported the client during a politically driven regulatory action against a subsidiary. Outcome: the matter was contained and did not spread to the parent operations.
